The Santa Barbara Grizzlies and Santa Barbara Pony baseball program have joined arms during the Fall of 2016, creating a comprehensive development baseball program for ages 11-14 youth athletes. Monday evenings at beautiful MacKenzie Park the Grizzlies coaching staff hold 2 hour instructional practices that cover the mental and physical side of the game of baseball. Saturday afternoons all players in the program participate in controlled scrimmages.  Directing the fall program is highly regarded local youth coach Vince Iuculano, Greg Harisis Director of the Grizzlies 14U program, and Tom Myers, area scout for the Chicago Cubs.  Joining the Grizzlies coaching staff and giving back to their community are three current members of the Santa Barbara Dons baseball program, Bijan Palme, Joe Firestone and Antonio Andrade.

The Grizzlies and SB Pony youth players will compete in travel baseball tournaments during the months of October-December of 2016.  "We are excited to work with SB Pony and their youth baseball players.  Our teachings will revolve around skill development and the importance of developing the 6th Tool. This is a great opportunity to sharpen all players skills on and off the field," said Greg Harisis Director of Grizzlies 14U program.
