Local Stand-out Kevin Gowdy Selected in the 2nd Round of 2016 MLB Draft

Former Santa Barbara Grizzlies standout and SBHS star Kevin Gowdy was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies with the 48th overall pick in the 2016 First Year Amateur Draft.  Kevin has his roots tied deep with local baseball development playing for GVSLL and DP LL plus the SB Riptide.  Kevin completed his senior year playing for Team USA, the Area Code Games, and Perfect Game National.  He helped lead the Santa Barbara Dons baseball team into CIF action showing his excellent command with 95 strike-outs and just 5 walks for the year. His name has been mentioned throughout the year as one of the top prep high school pitchers in the country.  Kevin has also signed a letter of intent to play for UCLA Bruins and will need to make a decision whether to forgo college or begin his professional career.
