The Santa Barbara Grizzlies enter their final months of the summer season and completion of their 5th year of baseball development.  The Grizzlies are a local baseball development program that provides year around training and competition for youth, high school and collegiate level players.  The Grizzlies coaching staff is comprised of former professional players, college and high school coaches.

Success on and off the field takes contributions of many people.  The Grizzlies are active in community out-reach and rely on local support and private donations.  In 2016 the Grizzlies participated in the Santa Barbara annual 5K Community Run.  The 5K race included local running enthusiasts and members from the SBCC and Santa Barbara High School baseball programs.

For the past two years the Grizzlies program has provided scholarships for players of need and for those who excel in the classroom.  The scholarship fund is in memory of Simon Chavez, former Santa Barbara Don baseball player.  With the support of the Chavez family and other members of the community, the Grizzlies program have helped families of need and have off-set annual budgetary needs.

In 2016 the Grizzlies offered to the local community a Father's Day Baseball Raffle providing four box seats at Petco Park. There was plenty of local participation in the raffle for the San Diego Padre tickets.  The eventual winner was local businessman and Big West baseball umpire, Alan Williams.

The Santa Barbara Grizzlies Baseball Group is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for youth, high school and college players to improve their baseball and life-skills in a positive and constructive environment.  Our successes on and off the field are a direct reflection of community involvement and support.
